TJ McConnell To Arizona

TJ McConnell, former Duquense Point Guard has made it official, he will be an Arizona Wildcat. After much speculation that Arizona was his choice from the beginning, he visited the Arizona campus this past Thursday and Friday, then finalized his decision today. The Wildcats are getting a great Point Guard, who already has played at the college level for 2 years. Although he is not eligible to play until the 2013-2014 season, expect him to start and make an instant impact.
In other recruiting news, the former home-town stud from Sabino High School, Matt Korcheck has committed to the Wildcats as well. He is a Sophomore, who played at Cochise C.C. after he was not eligible to play for UTEP, the original school he committed to out of high school. This rounds out Miller’s 2012 recruiting class, ranked #1 in the nation. As Arizona has been recruiting Brandon Ashley’s Italian teammate at Findlay, Amedeo Della Valle, one has to wonder if Sean Miller and Co. will abruptly stop or keep on the gas. If he does keep recruiting this young star, a transfer will have to occur within the program this year to satisfy the scholarship situation. Della Valle is a do-it-all type of player as he played positions 1-4 for Findlay Prep, this past year. It seemed to work as they won the High School National Championship. Whether Sean Miller will try and convince him to come this coming Friday, when Della Vella is in town will be something to watch. Should the Italian commit to the Wildcats, who is the player to leave the Cats roster? Most speculation has pointed to Josiah Turner, as he had some issues with suspension this year. People think it should be Kyryl or Mayes. Only time will tell and soon enough all of these questions will be answered. Stay tuned to Zona Zealots for up to date coverage of all Wildcat news.
