Down by one run in the top of the ninth, Oregon had a runner on third with one out. Oregon’s batter cranked what looked to be a single into left field, but Oregon State’s left fielder made an incredible shoestring snag. That was just half of the great play–the left fielder then proceeded to gun down the runner on third, who had tagged up to try and tie the game up.
Oregon has now lost two in a row, putting the Wildcats in the driver’s seat and the fate of the Pac-12 Championship in Arizona’s hands.
It is simple: If Arizona wins tonight, they at the very least clinch a co-championship of the Pac-12 crown. If they can sweep ASU, they will be lone champions.
Last night, Kurt Heyer pitched a shutout and his offense pulled through for him in the final inning. Now it’s Konner Wade’s turn.
Bear Down Arizona!
