Arizona Men's Basketball Schedule Finalized, Plus other Notes

The Arizona Wildcats basketball team has finalized it’s 2012-2013 schedule by adding the Red Raiders of Texas Tech.  If you follow college basketball, you surely know Texas Tech didn’t exactly have the best season last year (8-24) and may not be much better this year.  With that, UA’s RPI may not be as good as say, if they played the University of Texas.

This does however, get Arizona’s name into the huge Texas prospect pool for both basketball and football. It also gives the fans a chance to see a team they may have never seen before, so it is not totally a downer.

The complete schedule goes as follows and can be found on Bruce Pascoe’s blog along with some other information on the jersey numbers of the incoming players.  The key game of the non-conference is easily against Florida, as it will give us a reference point to how good this team really is.

Wow, over the years, their schedule has gotten worse and worse. This is simply unacceptable. Miller needs to man up, make his voice heard and schedule at least 2-3 top 25 teams. Other than Florida, there isn’t one single top 50 team here. Clemson will not be good.

I am disappointed. I want to see them play great teams. I loved it when they played UNC, Gonzaga, Kansas and other programs. Got on the ball Miller.!

Thanks for commenting. I completely agree, but I think Miller is working up to that point. He knew we weren’t going to be that good last year, while this year could go either way. I think in 1 to 2 years he will try to schedule those top tier foes. Remember, both schools have to agree. For all we know, UNC/Duke/Kansas don’t want to play us
