Ka’Deem Carey, one of the break out stars for the Arizona Wildcats this season, has been added to the Maxwell Award list as one of the top offensive players of 2012.
Carey is part of the top tier of running backs in the Pac-12. He is fourth in the conference in yards (842), yards per game (120.3), while he is second in touchdowns with 11.
Carey also spearheads Arizona’s third best rush offense, only trailing Oregon and UCLA.
Currently in the Pac-12, Carey is second in points per game with 10.3. He is also third in the conference in all purpose yards, gaining 154 a game.
Nationally, Carey also stacks up nicely as he is 16th (three QB’s included) in rushing yards, while he is 6th in touchdowns.
The Maxwell list will be shortened on October 29th to the Semifinalists, while on November 3rd the three finalists will be announced.
If Carey has a great game against USC, it should be safe to say he will be a semifinalist.
