Austin Hill, a red shirt sophomore for Arizona, is now a semifinalist for the top Wide Receiver in the country, also known as the Biletnikoff Award. Being a semifinalist means he is now part of a 10 person class of elite route runners.
Hill has 62 catches for 1023 yards this season, plus seven touchdowns. He has had four games with over 100 yards receiving, with the high point being his 259 yard performance on national television against Southern Cal. Hill averages 102.3 yards a game, with 16.5 yards a catch, while his longest reception is 60 yards.
Hill will need two more solid games to give himself a chance to win te award. If Matt Scott is not able to play this week, Hill’s chances may falter. Over the past two weeks, he has only had 88 yards receiving, dropping his game average through eight games from 117 to the current 102.
He is among three other Pac-12 receivers garnering a nomination yards.
We all wish Hill the best of luck through the next two games and he bucks the trend of starters and stays healthy.
