Tough Schedule Upcoming for Arizona Basketball Team

And here we go…..  The cupcake part of the basketball schedule is officially over for the Arizona basketball team.  The Wildcats have looked great up until now but we will see what the team is made of very soon.

The next 4 opponents have a combined record of 19-2 right now and hail from very good conferences.  Arizona will finally face teams with size and athleticism that is a lot closer to what they will be facing in the conference and the NCAA tournament.  The Cats will also be facing the first hostile crowds that the Freshman have seen in their college careers.  It is way too early to tell if Texas Tech, Southern Miss, or Clemson will have top 50 RPI’s at the end of the season but make no mistake, this is the stretch of games that will get our team ready for conference play.  In conference play you will have a stretch of games that are tough and never let up.  Right now this stretch of games is what will ensure that the young players and veterans are ready.

Coach Miller once again proves that he is a genius by scheduling less talented opponents for the first 4 games to get the freshmen used to the college atmosphere.  Now this stretch of 4 games will be tough, followed by another easier game, then a tournament.  This schedule will have the team prepared for PAC 12 play.
