Against the Colorado Buffaloes tonight at home, The Oregon Ducks played without point guard Dominic Artis for the third straight game in a row. The Ducks also lost their third straight game in a row. Coincidence? I think not–it is now pretty clear how much depth Oregon lacks.
Oregon was in the lead the entire game, but Colorado kept the game close and never let the Ducks get into double digits. Then, with 23 seconds left and down by only one point, Colorado’s Andre Roberson got an offensive rebound off of his own missed shot and put up a lay-up for a narrow 48-47 win.
Though the Ducks out-rebounded Colorado 34-25, they could only muster 3 of 15 from the three point line and could only get to the free throw line for a mere two attempts. Oregon was led by E.J. Singler, who had 14 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. For Colorado, Andre Roberson gets the MVP with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
Oregon’s third straight loss puts Arizona in sole possession of first place in the Pac-12, while Oregon, Arizona State and UCLA share second place (Also tonight, UCLA beat Washington at the buzzer and Arizona State beat California in a close one).
