The basketball season for the Arizona Wildcats is over, that means that it is time for Coach Miller and the Arizona staff to completely focus on recruiting. The biggest news will be whether Aaron Gordon will choose Arizona, or one of the other remaining schools on his list.
Gordon, who is a 6”8” 210 pound power forward, would take the Wildcats to an elite level next season. Gordon has been compared to Blake Griffin because of his bounce, but he could also play at the SF position if needed. Gordon has great hands, is a gifted passer, and is relentless defensively. He is the unanimous pick as the top recruit left that has not signed for a school. Gordon will be choosing between Arizona, Oregon, Kentucky, and Washington. He will announce his college choice around the McDonald’s All-American Game, which will be held Wednesday in Chicago.
Just to give you a glimpse of what the Wildcats roster could look like next season with Gordon in the mix:
PG: TJ McConnell, Jordin Mayes,
SG: Nick Johnson, Gabe York, Elliot Pitts
SF: Rondae Jefferson, Aaron Gordon
PF: Brandon Ashley, Grant Jerrett, Matt Korcheck
C: Kaleb Tarczewski, Angelo Chol
That frontline would easily be considered one of the best in college basketball. The Wildcats would have NBA sized depth at every frontcourt position. Coach Miller would have a lot of versatility with his lineups as well. It would be an amazing signing, and a great step to next season’s Final Four.
