Weekly Wildcat: A quick catch-up on all things Arizona Wildcats

Where Are They Now? Josiah Turner: JAIL

Former Arizona point guard, Josiah Turner, is currently serving a two-day jail sentence for his DUI arrest in 2012. Turner began his sentence on Monday as his plea agreement was finalized in the Pima County courts. He was arrested on April 26, 2012, by University of Arizona police, who said he recorded blood-alcohol levels of .15 and .16. So there’s his personal life, how about his professional life you ask? Well, after being released mid season by the Halifax Rainmen of Nova Scotia, Canada, Turner signed with the Summerside Storm of Prince Edward Island, Canada, averaging 10.7 points and 6.1 assists for the Storm. He recently declared for the 2013 NBA Draft.

Arizona Football: “Hangout” with Coach Rich Rodriguez

Arizona head football coach Rich Rodriguez will host a Google+ Hangout on Wed., April 24, at 11 am (Pacific). Season ticket holders who have already renewed their tickets are invited to participate in Rodriguez’s Google+ Hangout. Brian Jeffries will be the moderator and the Google+ Hangout will last 30 minutes. Fans participating in the Google+ Hangout will have the opportunity to ask RichRod questions and interact with the coach.

Former Arizona Assistant Falls Short in NBA Gig

It was announced on Tuesday morning that Mike Dunlap has been fired by the Charlotte Bobcats. Dunlap had just completed his first-year as the Bobcat’s head coach and finished the season 21-61. Dunlap served as the Arizona Wildcats assistant catch in the 2008-2009 season.

(Personal Note: Am I the only one noticing a pattern here of what happens if you leave the University of Arizona Athletics program? Just saying.)
