Weekly Wildcat: Arizona Baseball, Pac-12 Early NBA Departures and more

Arizona Wildcats Baseball: The BatCats are coming off of a nice non-conference sweep over the Alabama State Hornets. The Wildcats finished off the sweep on Sunday afternoon in impressive fashion with an 18-3 victory.

“I think it’s good to get these three wins under our belt going into the ASU game,” Maggi said. “It was a good time for us to settle down and get some things to work on and take it to the next Pac series.”

Next Stop: NBA (Hopefully): The deadline for underclassmen to declare for the 2013 NBA Draft has come and gone. Here is a look at the Pac-12 players who decided to leave school early for the NBA:

Allen Crabbe, California
Grant Jarrett, Arizona
Shabazz Muhammad, UCLA
Andre Roberson, Colorado
DeWayne Dedmon, USC

A few notable players who were on the edge but decided to stay in school:

Kyle Anderson, UCLA
Jahii Carson, Arizona State
Spencer Dinwiddie, Colorado
Dwight Powell, Stanford
C.J. Wilcox, Washington

Former Wildcats who still have a chance at the 2013 NBA Title:

Andre Iguodala, Denver Nuggets
Jerryd Bayless, Memphis Grizzlies
Jason Terry, Boston Celtics
Richard Jefferson, Golden State Warriors

Best chance to get that title? Jerryd Bayless. The Grizzlies are playing good basketball right now and with Russell Westbrook out for the Thunder, they could be the team that comes out of the West. Good Luck to all former Cats! Beat the Heat! :-)
