Arizona Softball: The Wildcats will heading to postseason play for the 27th consecutive year! The LadyCats were selected to the College Station Regional and will open the tournament against Baylor on Friday at 12:30 p.m.
-Former Kansas Center Zach Peters has committed to Arizona. Peters has had injury issues and is predicted to be more of a role player than anything else. His elegibility for the upcoming season is up in the air. CLICK HERE to read more from Zona Zealots on Peters’ commitment.
– The No. 1 recruit for the 2013-2014 season, Andrew Wiggins, committed to Kansas on Tuesday morning. This signing catapulted the Jayhawks from the bottom of the top 25 ESPN preseason rankings into the No. 5 spot. An impressive jump, but they still couldn’t get past the Wildcats who remain strong at the No. 4 spot despite losing three of their top four scorers and a high potential guy in Grant Jerrett. Michigan State is No. 3, defending champ Louisville is at No. 2 and surprise, surprise, Kentucky sits atop the list.
– Former Arizona guard Jerryd Bayless continues to play a solid role for the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA Playoffs. The Grizzlies are up 3-1 against the top seeded Thunder. In last nights victory, Bayless came off the bench with 9 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. The Grizzlies look primed to come out of the West. Could Bayless get his ring? The Heat may have something to say about that…but here’s to hoping!
– Grant Jerrett was invited to the NBA Combine. This is a good sign for his status in the NBA draft but he still has a lot of work to do to reach his dream of playing in the NBA next year.
