Teammates Jamardre Cobb and Marquis Ware from Salesian High School in Los Angeles committed to the Arizona Wildcats Wednesday, reported Daniel Berk of the Arizona Daily Star.
They made it clear throughout their recruitment that they were a package deal and wanted to continue playing together in college. They join high school teammate Rodney Carr, a three-star recruit who committed to Arizona in June, in the Wildcats’ 2014 recruiting class.
Ware and Cobb both received scholarship offers from Arizona State, Florida State, Miami (Fla.), Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Stanford, among others. They are rated as the 15th and 16th-best outside linebackers in the class and are also listed among the 200 best players overall.
Rich Rodriguez’ third Arizona Wildcats recruiting class now has two sets of three teammates. In addition to Carr, Cobb and Ware, Central East High School in Fresno, Calif. has three members in the class: four-star running back Nick Wilson, three-star defensive tackle Sharif Williams and three-star cornerback Devon Brewer.
The 24-man recruiting class is now ranked No. 17 overall by 247sports.com, as well as No. 1 in the Pac-12.
