Coaching Staff Players of the Week: UTSA

On Sunday, Arizona Wildcats head coach Rich Rodriguez and his staff announced their players of the week for Saturday’s 38-13 win over UTSA:

Offensive Player of the Week: B.J. Denker, QB
Denker established new career highs in passing yards (158) and rushing yards (90), accounting for three touchdowns. One of his touchdowns was a 35-yard run, which gives him three 30-plus yard touchdown runs in the first three games.

Defensive Player of the Week: Jourdon Grandon, S
Grandon had a career-high six solo tackles in the victory. He also played a role in two turnovers, forcing a fumble and recording his third career interception.

Special Teams Player of the Week: Drew Riggleman, P
Riggleman punted four times for a total of 183 yards, good for an average of 45.8 yards per punt. Three of his punts were downed inside the 20-yard line.

“Hard Edge” Player of the Week: Ka’deem Carey, RB
Carey rushed for 100 or more yards for the sixth-straight game, finishing with 128 yards on 27 carries and two touchdowns. Over those six games, he has rushed for 1,215 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Student of the Week: Austin Hill, WR
Community Service Award: Jake Smith, K
Scout Team Players of the Week: Connor Brewer, QB (offense), RJ Morgan, S (defense), Tyler Grammar, S (special teams)
