The Arizona Wildcats will host the NIT Season Tip-Off West Region at McKale Center on Nov. 18 and 19, the NCAA announced Tuesday.
Arizona, along with Duke, Alabama and Rutgers, were named No. 1 seeds and regional hosts for the tournament. First and second-round matchups will be played on the campuses of the four teams.
Arizona, Fairleigh Dickinson, Metro State and Rhode Island will play in Tucson, Ariz., Duke, UNC-Asheville, East Carolina and Norfolk State will play at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, N.C., Alabama, Stillman, Georgia State and McNeese State will play at Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa, Ala. and Rutgers, Canisius, Elon and Drexel will play at Rutgers Athletic Center in Piscataway, N.J.
The Wildcats play their first game against FDU on Monday at 9 p.m., and depending on results, will play either Metro State or Rhode Island at 9 p.m. the next day.
The winners of each region will move on to play in the semi-finals of the tournament at Madison Square Garden in New York on Nov. 27. The championship and consolation games will be held on Nov. 29.
The tournament will be broadcasted on the ESPN Family of Networks, which includes ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN3. Games will also be streamed online on WatchESPN.
