Ex-Arizona Wildcats in the NFL: Week 2

A couple weeks ago, we took a look at ex-Arizona Wildcats who began the year on NFL rosters. Let’s see how those players have performed through two-plus weeks this season:

Lance Briggs, LB, Chicago Bears
Briggs has started both games for the Bears, recording 17 tackles and four pass deflections. Against Minnesota in Week 2, he had 10 tackles (eight solo) and three pass deflections.

Eben Britton, OL, Chicago Bears
Britton has been active for both games, but has yet to see any action on the Bears’ offensive line. He’s listed as right tackle Jordan Mills‘ backup on the Chicago depth chart.

Antoine Cason, CB, Arizona Cardinals
Cason has played in both games for the Cardinals, recording one tackle in the season opener against St. Louis. He’s listed on the Arizona depth chart as the primary backup to cornerback Jerraud Powers.

Juron Criner, WR, Oakland Raiders
Criner has been inactive for the Raiders’ first two games and it appears that the Raiders prefer wide receiver Brice Butler over him.

Nick Foles, QB, Philadelphia Eagles
Foles has played in one game as quarterback Michael Vick‘s primary backup. After an injury to Vick against San Diego, Foles came in for one play and incompleted a pass before heading back to the bench.

Nick Folk, K, New York Jets
Folk has made all four of his field goal attempts and both his PATs this season. His 48-yard field goal with two seconds left gave the Jets an opening-season win over Tampa Bay.

Robert Golden, DB, Pittsburgh Steelers
Golden has played in both games as a special teams contributor, recording two tackles.

Rob Gronkowski, TE, New England Patriots
After missing the first two games due to back and forearm injuries, it’s very possible that Gronkowski makes his season debut against Tampa Bay. He is listed as questionable for Sunday after being listed as doubtful for Weeks 1 and 2.

Earl Mitchell, DT, Houston Texans
Mitchell has started both games for the Texans, recording four tackles.

Brooks Reed, LB, Houston Texans
Reed has recorded four tackles in two starts for the Texans.

Practice Squad
Dan Buckner, WR, Arizona Cardinals
Buckner was signed to the Cardinals practice squad Tuesday after spending the preseason with Arizona.

Fendi Onobun, TE, Chicago Bears

Matt Scott, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars

Note: Former UA wide receiver David Douglas recently auditioned with the Philadelphia Eagles, according to a league source.
