Arizona Wildcats Football Recruits: Week 5


The Arizona Wildcats 2014 recruiting class currently ranks 19th in the country and second in the Pac-12, according to 247sports.com. Let’s take a look at how the commits did in their games last week:

Rodney Carr, DB, Salesian High School, Los Angeles
The Mustangs defeated Whittier Christian (La Habra, Calif.) 54-24 to improve to improve to 3-2.
2013 Stats (Through four games): 1 tackle, 36 rushing yards, one rushing touchdown

Jamardre Cobb, LB, Salesian High School, Los Angeles
2013 Stats (Through four games): 27 tackles, 102 rushing yards

Jerod Cody, DL, Glendale Community College, Las Vegas, Nev.
After recording 21 tackles in eight games last season, Cody has yet to play in any games for the Gauchos, according to NJCAA.org.

Brandon Dawkins, QB, Oaks Christian High School, Westlake, Calif.
In a non-conference game against Crenshaw High School (Los Angeles), Dawkins completed 26-of-46 attempts for 454 yards and five touchdowns.
2013 Stats: 61 percent completion percentage, 1,791 yards passing, 20 touchdowns, six interceptions, 128 yards rushing, one rushing touchdown

Cameron Denson, WR, Salpointe Catholic High School, Tucson, Ariz.
Against Marcos De Niza (Tempe, Ariz.) on Friday, Denson had six receptions for 137 yards and two touchdowns, which included a 92-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter. He also intercepted a pass and returned it 26 yards.
2013 Stats: 33 receptions, 695 receiving yards, 46 rushing yards, 13 tackles, 3 interceptions, 4 pass deflections, 11 total touchdowns

Tony Ellison, RB, Granite Bay High School, Granite Bay, Calif.
Ellison rushed four times for 66 yards and a touchdown in a 39-35 win over Pittsburg (Pittsburg, Calif.). He also had two receptions for 67 yards and another touchdown.
2013 Stats: 46 carries, 390 rushing yards, 165 receiving yards, 10 total touchdowns

Patrick Glover, DB, Scottsdale Community College, Mesa, Ariz.
Glover had five tackles in a 35-28 win over Pima Community College (Tucson, Ariz.).
2013 Stats: 17 tackles, one interception, two passes broken up, one forced fumble, one defensive touchdown

Jonathan Haden, RB, Friendship Collegiate Academy, Washington, D.C.
The Knights didn’t play this past weekend. Their next game is October 4 against Westlake (Walfdorf, Md.).
2013 Stats: 15 rushes, 39 rushing yards, two catches, 40 receiving yards, one receiving touchdown

Naijiel Hale, DB, St. John Bosco High School, Bellflower, Calif.
The Braves didn’t play last weekend. Their next game is Friday against Crenshaw (Los Angeles).
2013 Stats: 20 total tackles

J.R. Hunt, S, Chandler High School, Chandler, Ariz.
Hunt had two tackles, one quarterback hurry and a pass deflection in a win over Cesar Chavez (Laveen, Ariz.).
2013 Stats: 24 tackles, three sacks, two quarterback hurries, one pass deflection

Kaige Lawrence, OL, Chaffey College, Victorville, Calif.
Lawrence hasn’t participated in any games yet this season. The Panthers defeated Victory Valley College (Victorville, Calif.) 39-28 Saturday night.

Kwesi Mashack, DB, Vista Murrieta High School, Murrieta, Calif.
Mashack had seven tackles, one pass deflection and 44 kick return yards in a 35-28 loss to Cathedral Catholic (San Diego)

Jordan Morgan, WR, Southridge High School, Beaverton, Ore.
Morgan had five catches for 106 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-7 win over Beaverton (Beaverton, Ore.) on Friday.
2013 Stats: 10 receptions, 208 yards, five receiving touchdowns, 126 rushing yards, one rushing touchdown

Antonio Smothers, LB, Scottsdale Community College, Scottsdale Ariz.
Smothers had three tackles (two for loss) and a forced fumble in a 35-28 win over Pima Community College (Tucson, Ariz.).

Marquis Ware, LB, Salesian High School, Los Angeles, Calif.
2013 Stats (Through four games): 9 receptions, 122 receiving yards, three receiving touchdowns, 29 rushing yards

Jace Whittaker, DB, Oceanside High School, Oceanside, Calif.
The Pirates lost 30-6 to Mission Hills (San Marcos, Calif.) on Friday.
2013 Stats (Through one game): 4 receptions, 51 yards, one receiving touchdown (Note: Oceanside does not post defensive statistics)

Trevor Wood, TE, Chaparral High School, Scottsdale, Ariz.
Wood had 11 receptions for 84 yards and two touchdowns in a 44-14 win over Red Mountain (Mesa, Ariz.). He also punted once for 38 yards.

Jeff Worthy, DL, Santa Ana Community College, Santa Ana, Calif.
Worthy had three tackles in a 39-35 loss to Grossmont Community College (El Cajon, Calif.).
