Arizona Wildcats Baseball Announces 2014 Schedule

The Arizona Wildcats baseball team announced the schedule and television information for their 2014 season on Wednesday.

Arizona will play 55 regular season games, including 38 at Hi Corbett Field and 17 away contests. The schedule is highlighted by 19 televised games, which includes 17 on Pac-12 Networks and two on ESPNU.

The Wildcats open the season Feb. 14-16 against Kent State at Hi Corbett Field. Opening Day on Friday, Feb. 14 will begin at 6 p.m. Utah Valley (Feb. 18-19), Alcorn State (Feb. 21-23), Seton Hall (Feb. 28-March 2), Long Beach State (March 4-5), Air Force (March 11-12), Grand Canyon (March 18) and Abilene Christian (May 23-May 25) will also be visiting Tucson, Ariz.

The rest of the Wildcats non-conference home schedule will be part of a three-day tournament from March 7-9. The Arizona Baseball Tournament will feature Santa Barbara and Mississippi State with each team playing four games over three days. Arizona will play Mississippi State on Friday, March 7, Santa Barbara on Saturday, March 8 and then both teams again on Sunday, March 9 as part of a double-header.

Games against Arizona State on March 26 and April 9 in Tempe, Ariz. are the Wildcats only non-conference away games.

Arizona opens up their conference schedule on March 14-16 at home against Washington State. They have home conference series against Oregon State (March 28-30), UCLA (April 11-13), Arizona State (April 25-27) and Stanford (May 9-11). They travel to Washington (March 21-23), Utah (April 4-6), USC (April 17-19), Oregon (May 2-4) and California (May 16-18).

The games against Arizona State (March 26, April 25 and 26), Oregon State, UCLA (April 11 and 13), USC, Oregon and California will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Networks. Matchups against UCLA on April 12 and Arizona State on April 27 will be on ESPNU.

The Wildcats, who have advanced to the postseason in 8-of-11 seasons under head coach Andy Lopez, will find out if they make the NCAA Tournament on Monday, May 26. Regional action will be played May 30-June 2 and Super Regionals will be from June 6-9. The College World Series will begin June 14 and continue through June 24 or 25 in Omaha, Neb.
