Former Arizona quarterback BJ Denker didn’t get drafted or receive a try out invitation for an NFL team. Not quite ready to end his playing career, he recently moved overseas to Switzerland and signed with the Basel Gladiators of the European Football League. In Switzerland, the primary language is German, which made researching this team pretty difficult. Luckily the standings were easily accessible, and we now know that the Gladiators are 7-1. Riding a four game win streak, BJ Denker has led the team to two straight victories in his first two starts, recording 7 touchdowns in his first game, and 5 touchdowns in his second. The Gladiators have clinched a spot in the playoffs, so feel free to follow the team and bookmark their official website.
1st game: 7TDs 2nd game: 5TDs This Euro ball is pretty fun!

Looking back at his numbers at Arizona, BJ Denker was statistically one of the most efficient quarterbacks in nation, ranking 27th overall with a 73.2 total quarterback passer rating, just two spots behind ASU’s Taylor Kelly (74.2) and four spots ahead of Oregon State’s Sean Mannion (71.9), the second leading passer in the nation. He lead Arizona to an 8-5 season as a first year starter, finishing with 2,516 passing yards, 949 rushing yards and a combined 29 touchdowns to 7 interceptions.
With the playoffs in sight and much success on the field, it seems as if life is pretty good in Switzerland for the former Arizona Wildcat. But the one thing that Denker is missing the most? His bae, Chipotle.
