Arizona Wildcats Commit Ray Smith is Ready, Are you?

Ray Smith (Reykwan) was offered by 11 schools including Connecticut and Louisville, and four other Pac-12 schools; Cal, Oregon, ASU, and USC.  Thankfully for Wildcat nation, he signed on July 14, 2014, with Coach Sean Miller and the Arizona Wildcats!

Almost a year ago, Arizona Wildcats commit Ray Smith suffered an ACL tear, cutting his high school basketball career short. When it comes to ACL tears in young athletes, a lot of the rehab is how an athlete comes back mentally.

Chance Comanche is a name that will stick with you for a long time, pretty cool.  He was offered by 13 schools, most notably, UCONN, Gonzaga, and Louisville, but also by five “other” Pac-12 schools UCLA, Cal, Colorado, Oregon, and USC.

Chance’s hometown is Beverly Hills, California, a stone’s throw from where I am sitting right now, a great place to live, eat, drink, shop and star-gaze. In Tucson, he won’t be gazing at movie stars, but the stars he will be gazing at will be his teammates, himself in the mirror and the beautiful Tucson night sky.

Kadeem Allen (Junior) –

Meet Arizona Wildcats Kadeem Allen, He’s Crazy Good

Allen did indeed red shirt for the 2014–15 season which is why you saw him, but he didn’t play in any games.  He will have two years of eligibility starting for the 2015–16 season, and we cannot wait! Kadeem Allen was one of the first to notably console T.J. McConnell as he walked off the court towards the bench for the last time in the NCAA West Regional Elite Eight finals.

Ryan Anderson (Senior) –

Ryan Anderson Wants to Compete, and It Can’t Come Soon Enough!

Being offered and committing to the University of Arizona is a privilege, and it is not lost on Anderson, “I had no idea a school such as Arizona would be calling. When I saw Tucson Arizona pop up on my phone, I couldn’t believe it. This school has an incredible tradition. As we’ve seen this year so many guys have gone into the NBA, not just on our team from last year but in the past ten years or so and they, have a great tradition for winning. I want to win; I am a big-time competitor.”

Mark Tollefson (Senior) –

Meet Your Newest Arizona Wildcat: Strong Forward Mark Tollefsen

Mark Tollefsen Summer Update Up Close

Last season Tollefsen averaged 14.0 points and 5.4 rebounds last season, shooting 37.8 percent from 3-point range (42 of 111). He earned All-West Coast Conference honors according to Fox Sports Arizona’s Anthony Gimino.

We have a lot to look forward to when the season starts, Mark is a shooter and a dunker, “Shooting has always been natural to me, I have always been shooter, a good shooter since I was a young kid, for me I always wanted to dunk since I was a little kid so playing above the rim has always something I took pride in and definitely shooting from the outside..I can play inside or outside.”

Get to know these players, they are something special. Even though this team is not getting the pre-season rankings they probably deserve, you would believe in Coach Sean Miller and know he is relishing being the underdog this season.
