Arizona Basketball guard Gabe York shot the lights out at McKale and fans sent him and the seniors off to the Pac-12 tournament feeling well-loved.
In what was a game for the ages, Arizona Basketball beat the Stanford Cardinal by 32 points, 94-62. It was senior night, and Cats fans bid adieu to their five seniors, during the game after each spectacular play, one-by-one as they left the game, and in a post-game ceremony. The day couldn’t have gone better.

Wildcats fans have been extremely critical of Gabe York at times during the season; the vitriol was hard to digest and combat.
Granted, the team seems to live or die by York’s three’s so when Gabe is on his game, the Cats usually win. When he’s not, well, the Cats lose as they did recently to both Utah and Colorado.
Take into consideration that York hasn’t been able to lead a fully healthy team for most of the season. Someone either had the flu, a broken hand, a broken bone in their foot, or a myriad of other mishaps which have caused the team and their fans grief. In addition, his big man Kaleb Tarczewski wasn’t able to take part in full practices until recently, which is why he had seemed a tad soft at times. Zeus has been strong and on his game in past weeks after being cleared to participate in Miller’s full practices.

Whatever the case, York redeemed himself in his final two games at McKale, scoring a combined 51 points including 12 three-pointers, four assists, and one steal. Fellow senior Kaleb Tarczewski sunk four slam dunks in the Stanford game, scoring a combined 23 points and 21 rebounds. Ryan Anderson earned two double-doubles, scoring a total of 32 points and grabbing 22 rebounds.
Jacob Hazzard finally got the call to take off his warm ups. It took Miller awhile to put him in, but the ZonaZoo helped by starting a ‘We want Hazzard’ chant. He came onto the court with a thunderous applause along with Justin Simon (five minutes, five points) and Chance Comanche (two assists).
In nine minutes, Hazzard made 75 percent of the shots he put up scoring nine points on 3-4 FG’s and 3-4 three-pointers. The fans were overjoyed with their freshman’s performance, icing on the cake.
Zeus matched former Arizona Wildcat Matt Meuhlebach’s most winning-est Wildcat record with his 109th win. Meuhlebach had a message for Kaleb.
