What do University of Arizona football players and sorority girls have in common?

You may think that University of Arizona football players and sorority girls don’t have anything in common except for partying, but you would be wrong. They both show up two weeks earlier than the rest of the student body.

The sorority girls are there for a week of rush preparation and a week of rush. The football players are there to get fall camp started and Wildcats fans are starting to get pumped up.

We are sure they are all excited about the season to come, but what are Wildcats fans looking forward to the most? ZonaZealots put out the question to our followers and got a variety of answers:

Rae Saunders

“I’m interested in seeing how the Cats will come out on defense. We know the offense will hold its own.”

Duane Avery

“I’m just ready for the season to start! Regardless how the season turns out I’ll always love the Cats! And have for over 50 years!”

Leo Pardo

“I’m looking forward to an improved defense.”

Jennifer Ayala Tolano:

“Tailgates!!!”

John Fernandez:

“Looking forward to being a part of the intense, euphoric feeling, when our boys go out and give it their all, which they always do…and take us all to a level above where we were before the season started. Thank You!!”

Anthony Humbert:

“Most looking forward to the new energy and scheme on defense.”

We also asked our staff of writers who are huge Wildcats fans themselves:

Eric Townsend:

“Defense. How will they do? Don’t expect a lot, but definitely, I think some fans are a little naive in thinking this group is going to be absolutely terrible. Yea I’m a bit of a homer, but I don’t think we will be 90th or lower”

Peggy McClain

“The season in general. Thank goodness summer will be ending, college football will dominate my TV again, #Pac12AfterDark, and anything Arizona Wildcat football. Fans, I expect to see you at AZ Stadium, no excuses! And let’s drown out the BYU crowd on September 3rd in Phoenix. Wear Red.”

Mark Barrera

“The defense as a whole with the new 4-2-5 scheme. But specifically, I’m looking forward to linebacker play and seeing Paul Magloire be the impact player on this defense. I think he’s going to be the guy offenses have to prepare for. With his size, skill set, and speed, the new system plays in his favor as a hybrid linebacker.”

Ryan Reyes

“I am excited to see a healthy Anu under center and our hopefully potent offensive quick.”

Kevin Jiang

“I’m cautiously optimistic for a good (not great season) if they stick with the better QB between Solomon and Dawkins from the beginning of the season.”

If you haven’t thought about it, or didn’t even realize football season preparations have begun, then the time has come to get Pumped up!! Maybe watching this video will help:

Me? I cannot wait for this quarterback competition, will it be seasoned Anu Solomon? Double threat Brandon Dawkins? Or athletic phenom Khalil Tate? Or all of them? I also want to see some true freshman step up.

I have been waiting to see freshman play who we have gotten to know like Justin Holt, Michael Eletise, Antonio Parks, Jamie Nunley, Devaughn Cooper, and J.J Taylor, if given a chance this season. I am also looking forward to welcoming Trevor Wood, Cody Ippolito, and Nick Wilson back from injury. Oh yeah, and I’m looking forward to seeing Nate Phillips and Samajie Grant to catch some exciting passes. Finally, I am looking forward to Sani Fuimaono lead our new Wildcats Haka! BearDown Arizona! Show the world you have been underrated one more time!
