King Rawle Alkins returns home to work out for the Brooklyn Nets, the fifth NBA team interested in him.

There isn’t a game Rawle Alkins has played in that some media outlet has used a reference back to Brooklyn when tweeting about his playmaking ability.

Former Christ the King athlete, Rawle Alkins is strutting down the streets and chillaxing in his hotel in Brooklyn, New York, his hometown. He’s preparing for a group workout with the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday.

Advised by an NBA source, Adam Zagoria reported that some hopefuls would be joining the Tucson and Brooklyn Royal in a workout with the Nets:

"The 6-foot-5 Alkins, a Brooklyn native who is testing the NBA Draft waters without an agent, will be part of a group workout with Maryland’s Melo Trimble, Arizona’s Kobi Simmons, Miami’s Davon Reed, UConn’s Amida Brimah and NC State’s Omer Yurtseven. On Thursday, the Nets will also work out Villanova’s Josh Hart and Oregon’s Tyler Dorsey. Both are projected second-round picks."

To Alkins, the Nets make a lot of sense. They have two first-round draft picks at 22 and 27. One of those draft picks came from the Washington Wizards. The Wizards got guard Bojan Bogdanovic and power forward Chris McCullough in the trade.

Alkins told us he loves his hometown, which is a huge bonus for Brooklyn. “It would be crazy to play at home in front of all the city and put on for my town,” explained His Majesty.

Former Wildcat Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is already a Brooklyn Net, ready to have a healthy and prosperous upcoming season. Wouldn’t it be fun if a fellow Wildcat joined Rondae? RHJ will be moving to the Power Forward position next season, so maybe the rumors that the Nets were interested in power forwards is old news, and the team is now looking at guards.

Earlier today King Rawle (on IG @KingRawle) was interviewed by Brooklyn News 12 at his former high school, it’s fun when royalty returns home. Here is the King with his high school coach Joe Arbitello.

The hype over the possibility that Lonzo Ball could stay home in Los Angeles to play for the Lakers is real. You could argue the same for His Highness, King Rawle. You can imagine a future broadcast for the Nets, ‘Alkins to Rondae for the dunk and the and-one, queue the Rondae Shimmy, add an assist to King Rawle’s stats.’ A possibility!
