It’s been a long road for 2018 Arizona Football commit Jaden Mitchell, but he will finally get his chance at football again after battling back from injury.

It was nearly two years ago when everything was looking promising for Nevada-based wide receiver, Jaden Mitchell. The then senior-to-be got an offer from Arizona and committed in April of 2017.

Rated a three-star prospect and the 187th best receiver in the nation, the future for Mitchell was very bright. Things were shaping up for a big, senior season for Mitchell at Desert Pines High School in Las Vegas, NV.

That is until his world would turn upside down. In the first game of his senior season, Mitchell would tear his ACL, derailing that season and delaying his enrollment at the University of Arizona.

The road ahead looked daunting, but Mitchell would begin battling to get to the UofA. To give himself more time, Mitchell elected to take a grey shirt (when an incoming college freshman who postpones his enrollment in classes until the second term of his freshman year), in order to give himself more time to get healthy.

Mitchell was still excited about the opportunity, and found solace in a few positive. “I’ll be a little bit older starting my college career and It’ll let my body to mature even more, Mitchell said. “I’m honestly just blessed to still have a scholarship and all I can be right now is thankful.”

Things were looking positive for Mitchell as he was working hard to get back to his prior dominance. Then his future would face a little uncertainty, when the coach that recruited him was let go before he was supposed to enroll.

Nonetheless, he persisted in his recovery and the current staff decided to honor Mitchell’s commitment, allowing him to continue to get healthy and ready to compete.

Over a year since the injury, it looks like Mitchell is back and ready to go!

He has remained faithful in his commitment and come signing day, he will finally get his chance to play college football!

The Nevada wide receiver who committed over 500 days ago got his National Letter of Intent and will officially become an Arizona Wildcat. The hard work, the emotion, everything that he worked for overcame him as he took in that moment.
