ESPN analyst Dick Vitale has finally agreed on social media to stop going after Arizona Basketball, for now, that is.

Finally. Many Arizona Basketball fans have been waiting for the day ESPN analyst Dick Vitale would finally stop going after the basketball program. That day has come, but that could change. According to Vitale, he indicated he will stop unless there is breaking news. We can all hope he sticks to his word.

History though has shown Vitale says one thing, but will then counter his original statement…the good ol flip flop. But if what he actually does leave Arizona alone. Time will tell on that one. We’ll see how things pan out.

Will Wildcat fans ever forgive Vitale even if he stops attacking Arizona? Probably not to be honest with you. What he has done to this program speaks volumes and not in a good way and has left a real bad taste with many people.

More from Wildcats Basketball

Many Zona Zealot staff writers have been personally called out as well from Vitale. It’s one thing to say such negative things about a program, over and over again, but then to personally start attacking individuals, that’s taking it to far.

The ironic thing about this whole Vitale saga is that he keeps on saying that Sean Miller should be held accountable for his actions. Meanwhile, his employer ESPN should be doing the same and be held accountable for letting one of their own employees, Vitale, get away with the things he has said on social media. But they haven’t.

Another point that needs to be made here is that he continues to praise schools and coaches, especially Duke. They recently just got their third five-star commit for the Class of 2020 and expect more.

If you don’t see anything wrong with that, I’m sorry but that just doesn’t add up. In back to back classes, Coach K has recruited a ridiculous amount of talent. But has he done it the right way or not? Just saying.

At the end of the day, it’s up to the NCAA to decide how to proceed. Not Dick Vitale. Not any one individual. We have to be ready though for when the news does break, expect Vitale to be right back at it once again.
