As the University of Arizona halts in bringing back student athletes amid the rising Covid cases, a few Arizona Football players are speaking up.

As the number of positive Covid cases rise in Arizona, it’s now becoming a rather difficult situation for Arizona Football and the school administration to navigate.

As you should have likely already seen, it’s that the University of Arizona has halted in bringing additional athletes on to campus.

Even with Arizona Governor Doug Ducey announcing another 30-day shutdown for gyms, bars, restaurants, etc. the University of Arizona is continuing to hold workouts for the student athletes that are on campus now.

Well with so much uncertainty, and the fact their have been no decisions made on the upcoming season, the decision certainly at least seems understandable, as Arizona has to operate with the assumption that they are getting ready for the 2020 season.

However, not everyone is in agreement with the logic here. Even with the schools’ decision to halt in bringing in additional student athletes, there have been a few current players that are speaking out.

Taking to social media to express their discontent, a couple of athletes have expressed their feelings in how they feel they are being used for the profit of the NCAA.

Arizona LB Issaiah Johnson: “The NCAA and Universities want us to play during a global pandemic so they won’t lose millions of dollars, but can’t won’t give us money?”

Arizona LB Kylan Wilborn: “College athletes need to speak up now more than ever! If you feel you are being put at unnecessary risks by your institution, it’s your job to speak up on it. IT’S YOUR HEALTH!”

Arizona CB Malik Hausman:

While having a football season is important for the sake of the athletic department and some of its smaller programs, you can’t help but understand where some of these student athletes are coming from.

In a way, it does feel like they are being used a little bit here.

Hopefully, the University of Arizona continues to find ways to protect their student athletes! As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
