With Covid bans and restrictions being lifted in the Pac-12, the Arizona Basketball team could start their season in 2020 after all!

In case you needed some more good news regarding Arizona Athletics, after both California and Oregon lifted some of their Covid bans and restrictions, that means Arizona Basketball could start soon as well.

As we all saw yesterday, Arizona Football could soon be returning to the grid iron, and well, the Basketball team could be coming to the hardwood shortly after.

Making news on Thursday was that the NCAA finally announced their start date to the 2020-21 Basketball season, which will be November 25.

Now does that mean that Arizona Basketball will have a game then? No, probably not, however, given the recent restrictions and bans that were lifted, it means that the Wildcats won’t have to wait until 2021 to begin their season.

As of now, I know there is still a lot up in there air, especially as it doesn’t seem like there are much specifics or details regarding the upcoming season, however, the initial news is good news, for fans that are of course wanting to see a bit of normalcy, as well as seeing our student athletes being able to compete.

For Sean Miller and the Wildcats, their work will be cut out for themselves, especially as they break in virtually a brand new roster.

Just to recap, Arizona brought in seven new commits in the class of 2020, and that’s not including the incoming transfers of Jordan Brown and James Akinjo.

So breaking in the freshmen, plus getting everyone ready for the year, will be a challenge for Miller, but luckily this looks to be a talented group that will have a good blend of size, athleticism and perhaps strong guard play, so the ceiling is high in my opinion.
