I was born and raised in Tucson and graduated from the University of Arizona in 2000, with a B.A. in Journalism. My Dad supported my interest in sports as a youth by taking me to Arizona Football, Basketball and Baseball games. We also enjoyed going to Spring Training games at Hi Corbett Field in the late 1980's and early 1990's. Every time my favorite player Tony Gwynn came to town we were there to see my Padres. My obsessiveness with Arizona Athletics started with the 1987-88 Arizona Basketball squad. They were rock stars in town and in my opinion, they were the best team to ever play on the hardwood at Arizona. The town fell in love with those guys and the love affair with the basketball program has never left.Since 2008 I have been working on a documentary film about that amazing 87-88 team, with the help of former players, friends, fans and my co-producer brother, Sean P. Malone. It is scheduled for a 2017 release.
