The #18 Arizona Wildcats gymnastics team hit the road this week for two dual meets against Pac-12 foes. Up first was a Monday matinee, in Los Angeles, against the UCLA Bruins. The Bruins were unranked for this meet, due to a lack of early season meets, but are one of the top teams in the country. The Bruins swept all four rotations and won the meet 195.975-195.300.
Arizona moved down in the rankings to #22 midweek and that’s where they were ranked for their next road meet, in Seattle, against the #18 Washington Huskies. The Wildcats and Huskies split the four rotations, but Arizona got just enough points to pull the upset, 196.050-195.950, and get out of Seattle with a very nice road win.
The Wildcats are now 1-2 in dual meets this season, losing to #4 Alabama and UCLA, and defeating #18 Washington. Arizona has also won a quad meet over Sacramento State, Illinois-Chicago, and Wisconsin-Stout.
