T.J. McConnell has just finished up his first taste of pro ball. In six NBA Summer League games McConnell averaged 5.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 23.8 minutes per game.
During the Summer League, McConnell had trouble shooting, but he’s hoping that an opportunity to make an NBA roster is still in the cards.
With the Philadelphia 76ers having a shortage on point guards, McConnell has an opportunity to make a run at a roster spot when training camp starts in a few months.
Six games are a small sample size for McConnell to prove to NBA front offices that he has what it takes to play in the Association. Hopefully the big wigs will consider the leadership McConnell showed during his two-year run with the Wildcats.
