The Nebraska Cornhuskers have a new sheriff in town. Mike Riley is a fantastic coach and personally I think he is the perfect hire for the Lincoln fanatics, but accomplishing what Tom Osbourne did at Nebraska will be near to impossible.

Nebraska has won five National Titles and three of those were in the 1990’s with Tom Osbourne in charge.

That’s what makes our next game on the list so sweet.

Arizona had it’s greatest season ever in 1998. The Cats finished the regular season 11-1, placing second in the Pac-10 to UCLA.

The Cats were rewarded with a matchup in the Holiday Bowl against the defending National Champion Nebraska Cornhuskers and their future Heisman Trophy winner, quarterback Tim Couch.

Arizona took their final lead in the second half when Kelvin Eafon scored on a one-yard touchdown to take a 23-20 lead.

Late in the fourth quarter Arizona All-American and future NFL Pro Bowler, Chris McAlister iced the game with an interception ending the Cornhuskers hopes of a San Diego celebration.

The Cats finished the season 12-1 and gained their highest ranking ever when they ended the season No. 4 in the nation.
