Ricky Hunley is the current linebacker coach for the Oakland Raiders.

Ricky Hunley started coaching in 1991 for the University of Southern California and remained a collegiate coach until 2002 when he transferred from the University of Florida to the NFL to coach for the Washington Redskins. From that point on he continued to coach in both at the professional and collegiate level tallying 19 years thus far in his coaching career.

In 2007, Ricky Hunley was honored to be named to the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame.

Hunley was drafted No. 7 in the first round of the NFL 1984 Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals but failed to reach an agreement with the team, so he was traded to the Denver Broncos. Hunley played in the NFL for seven seasons with the Denver Broncos (four seasons), the Phoenix Cardinals (one season) and the Oakland Raiders (two seasons). He was selected to start for the Denver Broncos in both Super Bowl XXI and XXII.

Hunley attended the University of Arizona from 1981-1983 and played linebacker recording ten interceptions and two touchdowns. In both 1982 and 1983, he was selected as a Consensus All-American. His brother Lamonte Hunley also played for the Wildcats and was also an All-American linebacker at Arizona, they played together for three years.

In 1998, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame, he was the first player from the University of Arizona to earn this honor.
