No. 7 – Invited to an Arizona Wildcats NBA or NFL Draft party

Let’s set up the scenario: A friend of yours is friends with a Wildcat, who will definitely be drafted into the NFL or NBA. Your friend invited you as his or her guest.

The Athlete asked your friend to arrive early to hang out before all the family gets there. You get to reminisce with the athlete and all his friends, learning all the back stories and stuff no fan ever gets to hear about. You also get the chance to tell the player what you will always remember, the play that made you lose your voice, what he means to you.

You exchange phone numbers; he wants to keep in touch with you and hang out when he visits next. You learn that you really like this guy, and he is a truly great person, you are sure he will be successful in the Pros.

The draft starts and nerves are high; the experts have projected him to go in the first round. Finally, his name flashes across the screen, and he gets the phone call, and you are there to share in the moment. He just went from college athlete to professional in the wink of an eye.

The celebration begins and continues into the night, a night full of promise and the future.

It’s a day you’ll never forget.
