4. Defense

Another Achilles heal for the Wildcat team this year has been to defend the 3pt. Yes, sometimes a team is going to get hot from the perimeter, (like Oregon Ducks did when they hit 16 3-pointers) and there is not much that can be done. But when an opponent isn’t shooting that wonderfully, and they get open looks, that will drive a coach crazy!

Like rebounding, it’s all about fundamentals. Closing out the opponent, getting hands up and not giving them any chance for a good look. That’s how it’s done. In the three Pac-12 tournament games, the Wildcats opponents shot 10-57 from 3-point range. That’s what I’m talking about it!
