Class of 2018 Star Simi Shittu Receives Offer from Arizona
By David Rosen
Things are heating up in the Southwest. The Arizona Wildcats just made another offer, this time to five-star recruit Simi Shittu.
Just when you thought the bar couldn’t get any higher, it just did! The Arizona Wildcats just made an offer to class of 2018 ESPN Top 100 star Simi Shittu. Sean Miller apparently is working on following in the footsteps of the Warriors in building a superteam for the 2018-19 season.
Shittu, out of Ontario, CA, is listed as 6-foot-8 and weighs 210 lbs. He is the No. 4 overall power forward for the class of 2018, according to ESPN 100. Oh by the way, Shittu is a five star recruit – a coach Miller requirement! In addition, he is the second Canadian recruit that the Wildcats have expressed interest in since they acquired five star recruit Emanuel Akot for the 2017-18 season – OH CANADA!
He has received offers from many other top division schools, such as Connecticut, Louisville, UCLA, and Washington just to name a few. Who wouldn’t want an athlete of his caliber to be part of their squad?
Shittu currently plays for the Vermont Academy, high school in Canada. In the nine games played during the 2016-17 season, he averaged almost 20 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, four steals and two blocks per game – those stats are NICE!
Shittu plays for the Ontario, CA AAU team CIA Bounce (which is an official member of the Nike EYBL league). In the Nike EYBL event this past season, he averaged 20 points and ten rebounds per game.
Currently, Shittu is taking part in the 2017 Peach Jam event, where he is utterly DOMINATING. In the three games played he has averaged 20 points, ten rebounds and three assists per game – including this beauty:

To make things even more interesting, in the first game of the Peach Jam he played against Wildcat commit Shareef O’Neal and best friend / possible Cat recruit Bol Bol of Cal Supreme:
Shittu’s ball handling skills, shooting touch, defensive plays and rebounding make him a very DANGEROUS power forward. Having someone who could “flex” into any position on the court – how can you pass that up! Plus, Shittu has that similar “attacking the rim” mindset that Allonzo Trier and Rawle Alkins have. Behold all Shittu’s amazing skills captured by ItsOvertime.
Besides having the talent, he has the name. With a name like Simi Shittu, how can you not love this guy! The question is, how do you pronounce it? Maybe Shittu can help us out!
