Despite having many of the Blue Bloods of college basketball angling for the top ranked recruit in the 2018 Class, Marvin Bagley will indeed visit local Arizona Wildcats.

When it comes to top recruits coming to Arizona Basketball, Sean Miller and company are no slouches on the recruiting trail. Lorenzo Romar, Miller, and the rest of the coaching staff all made the trip out to the Peach Jam in order to get a look at the some of the best recruits, including Marvin Bagley, for the 2018 class.

Shareef O’Neal, the son of legendary NBA player Shaquille O’Neal has already committed to play for Arizona during the 2018 season. He is close to Bol Bol off the basketball court, as they consistently draw laughs from the twitter crowd with their back and forth quips. They also play for the same AAU team, Cal Supreme, so it is no surprise that the two are close and play very well together.

Shareef and fellow incoming recruit Brandon Williams could use their friendships with other top recruits in order to get them to attend the University of Arizona, as Jason Scheer pointed out.

Our Site Expert Shereen Rayan also interviewed Williams as the two took in The Game at The Drew League and he offered up his recruiting strategy:

After a Peach Jam game, Marvin Bagley told ESPN’s Jeff Borzello that he plans on visiting Duke after the event

After the visit with Duke, Bagley is intent on going to two follow up official visits. Those visits will include USC and Arizona according to Krysten Peek of Rivals.com

No matter where Marvin Bagley goes, even if he does not choose Arizona, all the attention the basketball team is getting from these top recruits is good news. Other top recruits will certainly take notice.

The school recently offered 2018 top 10 recruit Simi Shittu.

The upcoming Arizona roster for 2017 has some big name freshman recruits of its own. DeAndre Ayton, Ira Lee, Brandon Randolph and Emmanuel Akot all project to be drafted in the 2018 NBA Draft. Those three leaving would open up some roster spots.

Imagine a 2018 class of Shareef O’Neal, Brandon Williams, Bol Bol, Simi Shittu, and Marvin Bagley. A class of that talent would not only be the best recruiting class that Arizona has ever gotten, it very well would be the best class in the history of college basketball.

But as we all started salivating over the Bagley visit in Tucson, this bit of news broke:

As the weekend has proceeded, there have been many rumblings that Marvin Bagley would reclassify into the 2017 class and either join the Duke Blue Devils or USC Trojans. For Arizona’s sake, let’s hope he decides to stay in the 2018 class. If you live in Los Angeles and want to catch Bagley in action, all you have to do is watch him at The Drew League, he plays for LAUFD.
