Famous NBA photographer Cassy Athena finds Rawle Alkins for photo shoot

Cassy Athena takes photos of NBA stars and entertainers; she also takes photos of former and current Arizona Wildcats.

Based out of Los Angeles, California, Cassy Athena is a well-known sports and entertainment photographer. She found our Wildcat in Vegas last week at the Las Vegas Fab 48 tournament at Bishop Gorman High School.

We just spotted Athena at The Basketball Tournament where Arizona Alum Kyle Fogg is playing with the Overseas Elite and just beat the Syracuse based team to go to the TBT Finals for $2 Million. The Finals are Thursday at 7:00 pm.

Athena is known for the Nick Young tweet where he is smiling, and there are question marks all around his head. It’s used a ton on Twitter to express folks confusion with any given topic.

We went to check out her website, and I was pleasantly surprised with what I found. This young woman’s philosophy matches mine, the one I use when covering athletes and coaches.

Not only do our philosophies match, but we are also both graduates of California State University, Northridge. I felt an immediate affinity for her even though I have never met her in person. One day it will happen!

Athena is a cancer survivor, she had a benign brain tumor which was removed, and she is grateful to be alive You can just tell by admiring her many photos how much she cares and how good she is at capturing the essence of an athlete.

On Instagram, there is an excellent sampling of her work, a who’s who of NBA stars including Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Kelly Oubre Jr., Chris Paul, LeBron James, Aaron Gordon, Lonzo Ball and more.

She has good taste, let’s just say that. Hopefully, she is good at spotting future NBA Talent. Athena found Rawle Alkins and had an impromptu photo shoot. There are more photos on Alkin’s Instagram account @KingRawle, but here is a nice little sample. She completely captured this Wildcat’s intensity, but also his fun-loving side as well. The camera seems to love Alkins. He’s very photogenic.
