Arizona Football Hall of Famers Ricky Hunley and Chuck Cecil reminisce on sidelines at practice
It’s been awhile since these two Arizona Football legends Ricky Hunley, and Chuck Cecil stood on the sidelines while playing for the University, the two were able to catch up!
Last week during practice, two Arizona Football Legends hung out on the sidelines during practice, new Senior Defensive Analyst Chuck Cecil and fellow Hall of Fame Defensive Back Ricky Hunley.
Hunley was in town to kick off the Arizona High School football season in Tucson at the coaches for Charity Kickoff Classic Banquet. He served as the keynote speaker at the event. Former Arizona Coach Dick Tomey was also in attendance.
According to Andy Morales (All Sports Tucson):
"Hunley asked the players to embrace the coaching they have and will receive, to be in charge of their own efforts with a single purpose, have accountability to themselves and to their teammates and avoid making off the field issues something the team will have to deal with."
“Being on the field today at the U of A practice with Chuck was just like the good old days,” said Hunley, “The smell of the grass and the dry heat reminded us both of the first day of practice in 1980 and 1982. It was 2:00 in the afternoon, the sun was high, and it was 114 degrees.
That’s how Wildcats get ready for a season!”
“It was amazing to visit with Ricky and get to talk ball and the good ole’ days. It sounds corny, but I am just really excited to be back in Tucson. There are so many great people here and around the globe that truly believe in the winning Cats culture of excellence,” Cecil stated. “I am grateful every day that Coach Rodriguez and the Athletic Department has given me this opportunity to help the Wildcats.”
