On August 21st, 2017 there will be a total solar eclipse for the first time in many moons. In the past, some wild things have happened, and hopefully, our wish will come true.
Unless you live under a rock or don’t own a TV/Computer, odds are you have heard about the upcoming eclipse. According to Time Inc, our parent company, it isn’t as straightforward as you would imagine:
"The solar eclipse will spread across the U.S. from Lincoln Beach, Ore., where a partial eclipse will begin at 9:05 a.m. PST on Aug. 21. The total solar eclipse will begin there at 10:16 a.m. The total eclipse will then move from the West Coast to the East Coast, ending near Columbia, S.C. at 2:44 p.m. EST. In all, the eclipse will take just about an hour and a half to traverse the country. In each place where the total solar eclipse can be viewed, it typically lasts no longer than two minutes and 40 seconds. There have been plenty of wild things to happen during total eclipses throughout Earth’s history. Scientists have pointed out that during the two minutes of complete darkness, cicadas will stop singing (FINALLY), crickets will….. cricket? The dreaded, annoying mosquito will even come out of hiding to bite. Where do mosquitoes hide? Nobody knows….
The last complete eclipse was on October 12, 1977. That day may not seem significant to the average Joe. Unless you’re a Yankees fan. Game two of the ’77 World Series happened that night, even though the Yanks’ would go on to win the WS, they got destroyed this game. Catfish Hunter, a highly respected, phenomenal pitcher of that generation gave up five runs in 2 1/3 IP, giving up three home runs in the process.
At ZonaZealots, we are hoping that the impending total eclipse will bring upon the greatest recruiting class that college basketball has ever seen. Even better than the “39-0” Kentucky Wildcats team that featured Anthony Davis. With Brandon Williams, Jahvon Quinerly, and Shareef O’Neal already committed and waiting to tear the college world apart, there are still plenty of top-notch recruits still left for the 2018 Class.
Imagine a moment where the moon covers the sun, and the Arizona logo appears. This could be a “bat signal” moment that all the recruits are waiting for to commit to being a Wildcat.

Let’s take a look at some of the top recruits left that could be the Robin to our Batman.
