High school sweethearts TJ McConnell and Valerie Giuliani tied the knot on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017.
TJ McConnell and the love of his life Valerie Giuliani got married last Saturday. Arizona Basketball head coach Sean Miller and his wife Amy, along with Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Nick Johnson and Jake Hazzard were witness to the glorious occasion that included fireworks both figuratively and literally.
According to Crossingbroad.com Dario Saric wanted to come to the wedding and TJ really wanted him to come but because he “Had a national team ,” and he couldn’t make it.
In the beginning…TJ and Valerie lived on the same street on Critchfield Drive in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania just 15 miles southwest of Pittsburgh. They grew up together, and eventually Valerie asked her sister to tell TJ that she had the hots for him. He promptly asked her out on a date and they dated throughout college until McConnell graduated, then they took their relationship to a new level. The rest is history.

McConnell beat out a bunch of his teammates to the altar, but we all know when he has his mind made up, he is all in.
TJ hit the proposal out of the park! He sent Valerie on a scavenger hunt and blast to the past of where they met then where they lived and back to their high school where he spread rose petals all over the gym floor at Chartiers Valley High School. He had their favorite song playing..aww!
The wedding took place at the Hyatt Place Pittsburgh South/Meadows Racetrack & Casino. There were 11 bridesmaids including the maid of honor and ten groomsmen including two men of honor including his former manager from the Wildcats Dave Miller (Assistant Coach USCB) and his 76ers teammate Nik Stauskas.

We don’t have too much insight into the wedding reception, but thanks to Jake Hazzard’s Instagram story, we did find out that the evening included a huge fireworks display. Fitting! Congrats to the bride and groom, may they live a happy and wonderful life full of love, Bear Down!
