5 questions for Go Joe Bruin about the UCLA game this Saturday

TUCSON, AZ - SEPTEMBER 26: Quarterback Josh Rosen

Each time UCLA and Arizona match-up in basketball or football, we ask our sister site Go Joe Bruin to answer five questions about the upcoming game.

It’s that time again, UCLA will travel to Tucson to play the Arizona Wildcats. So we asked the editor of our sister site Go Joe Bruin Mike Regalado five questions about the upcoming game.

1) What key injuries do you have on your team right now?

Mike: A lot (cries uncontrollably). The Bruins have been plagued, but hopefully, the bye week allowed a few of those to heal. Jim Mora said after UCLA’s last game that there were several players injured, but most were looking to get back against Arizona. DE Jaelan Phillips would be a huge addition. RT Sunny Odogwu could return and help on the O-line. Perhaps the most anticipated return would be that of dynamic LB DeChaun Holiday who would add depth and skill to the LB crew.

2) Will your WB Josh Rosen be attempting a lot of passes in this game considering Arizona’s defense sacked the Colorado QB four times last game?

Mike: No doubt. Rosen is not scared. He has been hit and gotten right back up. The O-line is doing a good job, but need to limit pressure on Rosen. Still, Rosen thrives in any situation, and he will be slinging it around as much as any other game.

3) Which Bruins will be beat seeking Khalil Tate for tackles?

Mike: Honestly, I expect DC Tom Bradley will throw different looks at Tate. The question is whether he will stay with what’s working. UCLA should try to pressure Tate, but they might be focusing more on containing, which he been a problem. If any Bruins are going to go after Tate, it will be DL Rick Wade, Jacob Tuioti-Mariner, and Kenny Young.

4) What’s the Bruins biggest strength going into this game?

Mike: Josh. Rosen. Well, I should expand that to include OC Jedd Fisch. Under the new OC’s guidance, Rosen and the offense have been on fire, and that will not be extinguished any time soon.

5) Do you predict that UCLA will either run on to the field at the same time as the Wildcats and/or UCLA will take out our QB?

Mike: I have no clue. Rivalries are fun, and little shots like this are fine to get the chatter going, but I think Mora will have his team hyper-focused. Arizona is no slouch, and UCLA needs to play with maximum effort from start to finish.

Looking forward to this game, hoping the fans make their way to the stadium for this one, and finally hoping that Rich Rodriguez and his Wildcats finally get this monkey off his back and beat the Bruins for the first time in his Arizona Career.
