Arizona Football: 30 reasons why you need to go to the Oregon State game
There should be no reason other than you are a fan of the Arizona Wildcats to go cheer them on against Oregon State this weekend. It is the hottest ticket in town on Saturday night, but we thought of 30 more reasons.
We could not think of one reason not to go to the Arizona Football game this Saturday night if you are physically able to go, and especially if you live in Tucson. That said, there were surprisingly empty seats in the stadium in Tucson last home game, and it was Homecoming to boot. Granted, most young folks were celebrating Halloween early, but there is NO SUCH EXCUSE this weekend.
We asked Wildcats fans if they could come up with reasons why their fellow fans should go to the Arizona vs. Oregon State football game this Saturday night. We combined their sentiment with our list and here is what we came up with:
Arizona Wildcats Football
- The Quarterback Khalil Tate is extremely exciting and shall we say fascinating to watch play, and he is a popular Heisman Trophy candidate.
- It’s Arizona’s last home game.
- You may see a basketball player.
- Because this team is special, was chosen to be No. 6 in the Pac-12 South, and now has enough wins for a bowl game and is tied for No. 2.
- Arizona ranks No. 1 in Interceptions in the Pac-12, No. 3 in the Nation.
- McKinnon on Twitter says, “It’s Extremely entertaining Football, headed for Bowl game, Awesome devoted Seniors, record-setting QB in Heisman race!! Duh…”
- It’s Senior Night, your chance to thank the seniors for a Pac-12 South title, living through last season and for stepping up and leading the team this season.
- It’s Military Appreciation Night, the game takes place on Veteran’s day November 11
- Chuck Cecil wants you to go, “Hunt or be Hunted. I choose the first. @ArizonaFBall last home game. We need muscle in the stands! #BearDown with us Sat. 1 DAY. 6 HOURS. 12 MINUTES. 39 SECONDS. Who is with me?”
- You can donate so that the Military can go to the game and show them appreciation in the stands.
- Arizona’s new Athletic Director, Dave Heeke, asked you to come support the team (Remember the man who is trying to bring Beer into the stadiums/arena’s on campus? Yeah pretty important guy to impress).
- Khalil Tate is going to run like the wind, or a freight train, he now has passed 1000 yards rushing on the season, becoming the first Pac-12 QB in history to do so.
- ARIZONA IS NO. 3 IN THE NATION IN INTERCEPTIONS: Demetrius Flannagan-Fowles, Jace Whittaker*. Dane Cruikshank, Lorenzo Burns, Jarrius Wallace, Tony Fields II, and Colin Schooler* love to catch interceptions – 15 in 9 games (*Interception for a TD)
- Because Arizona Athletics says, “Nowhere else you should be on Saturday than Arizona Stadium.”
- Same reason Tinna C. is going “Cuz I’m a season ticket holder, I love the U of A and it’s important to support this team. Lastly, true fans always bear down and show up!!”
- Same reason Franklin Loalza Jr. is going, “See Khalil run for 280 yds, pass for another 280 yds, and see the Cats win BIG…instead of staying home n trying to complete a
#280characterlimit tweet!” - It’s fun.
- You may meet someone new that shares in your passion for football.
- To watch your favorite player, the whole game where ever they are! Say your favorite player is Jacob Alsadek (one of mine), watch him the entire game.
- Lauren Joffe says, “Because it’s your GD school. If you need another reason then you’re not a fan. Ever!”
- You won’t be drinking alcohol (if you need a break).
- It won’t be hot, in fact, you may want to bring a red sweatshirt with a big block /A\ on it to wear.
- To get exercise walking up and down the stairs while telling everyone you pass to bear down.
- Scott A. Kaufman says, “I’ll be traveling from Oklahoma city for this game…so no excuses Tucson…don’t be lazy!! Support these kids!”
- To be out in the cool fall air with thousands of people who share your love for the school.
- To watch and envy college students, some of them going to their last football game as a student, and let their excitement become contagious.
- Roberto Carlos Salgado told us, “I know it is late but go out and support the team and coaches! Have fun with family and friends!”
- There is no basketball game at McKale.
- The football God’s are shining on Tucson.
- Show President Robbins and Athletic Director Dave Heeke that they made the right decision to come to Tucson and that Arizona Wildcats fans are the best in the Nation.
Rich Rod always honors his seniors in some way at practice before senior night. This year it was a giant Cat Walk, with each player choosing their song to play..it gets fun!
Wait for it……

Did we miss one? Let us know what we missed! Show up on Saturday night and support your team, this year has turned out to be a very special year. The players are not getting playing with a ton of heart and busting their butts to win for you, the least you could do is go show them you care.
