Arizona Football: How and why to vote for Khalil Tate for Heisman
Khalil Tate’s stock is still on the rise as he leads his Arizona Football team to victory against the Oregon State Beavers.
Arizona Football and their quarterback Khalil Tate have an excellent opportunity to rack up some significant stats at the Beavers expense and are highly favored to win the game (by like three touchdowns or something silly). Couldn’t have asked for a better opponent to snap your one-game losing streak than Oregon State. It’s an excellent opportunity to bounce back and add stats to the pile he has already amassed.
Nicknames have popped up everywhere, seems folks are having a lot of fun giving this phenom a nickname. We maintain he has always gone by Tate and wants to continue to go by Tate, but here are a few that have been suggested: Desert Ghost, Magic Man (Bleacher Report), The Big Cat (Arizona Football), Tatertot (Scottie Young), Ka-Thrill Tate, and more.
Why Khalil Tate for Heisman?
This Arizona quarterback has not only racked up the stats, he has energized his teammates, coaches, and fans. He and his team have brought hope where there was no hope, except within themselves and some of us in the media. There is a lot to be said for his leadership; his teammates believe they can win, each and every game, and that starts with Tate.
Tate has broken records and in almost half as many games as his peers. He has rushed for 1,001 yards in the last five games, averaged 155.3 yards per game and totaled 1,087 yards rushing in a single-season Pac-12 record for a quarterback. He has also earned four consecutive Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week honors. Here’s a list of accomplishments care of the Pac-12 press release for this weeks football matchups:

Last week, Tate made the list of Heisman hopefuls. First, the media started talking him up across the nation like ESPN Stats and Info who are having a field day reporting on him. CBS Sports broadcast Tom Fornelli has been downright hysterically enamored with Tate.
The Bleacher Report has caught on to Tate Heisman Fever:
Dennis Dodd:
The Pac-12 has spoken:
ESPNU during other College football games:
PFF College Football has included Tate in many weekly Pac-12 teams of the week.

Who’s next?
The Oregon State Beavers will have their hands full, but the coach doesn’t seem too worried about Tate, took some time to downplay his abilities this week.
Arizona will have an extremely healthy team this weekend with the exception of true freshman Joshua Brown who is out with an ankle injury, unfortunately. Shun Brown (WR) is probable, Kurtis Brown (DL) is questionable. It seems Scottie Young is healthy as is Nick Wilson. This should be fun!
