Las Vegas Defensive Lineman Re-Commits to Arizona Football
Arizona Football gained a big commitment for the 2018 recruiting class, with the addition of a Las Vegas Defensive Lineman.
With the Arizona Football team looking to finish the 2017 season strong, the Wildcats also hope that momentum carries over, as they try to wrap up their 2018 recruiting class.
Spots are becoming limited. The Wildcats currently have 19 commits in the class, with Las Vegas wide receiver, Jaden Mitchell, grey shirting (due to injury), and will join the team in 2019, bringing the total down to 18 technically.

So far, head coach Rich Rodriguez has indicated that he would be taking a smaller class (compared to the NCAA allotted 25). That likely leaves just another spot or two for any recruits in the class of 2018!
On Monday, former Arizona commit Adam Plant, Jr., announced he would be once again, committing to the University of Arizona. Plant if you may recall, is the very talented defensive linemen, from the perennially ranked Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, NV, who was once committed to the Wildcats not too long ago! He’s also the cousin to Wildcat Basketball commit, Shareef O’Neal!
Plant made his announcement via social media, and ultimately picked the Wildcats despite having offers from USC, Penn State and Oregon as well!

Standing a towering, 6-feet-5-inches and roughly 245 pounds, and with Arizona’s defense ranking 119th in total defense, he should be a welcomed addition in the class!
As it stands, the performance of the defense needs to improve significantly, and if there are any areas the Wildcats need more help at, it’s the defensive line. This year, the Wildcats have been pretty average in getting to the quarterback, totaling just 24 sacks through 11 games. The top three sack leaders are linebackers.
The Wildcats would do themselves a lot of favors, if they could provide more production on the defensive line. Whether it’s better run defense, or a more consistent pass rush, we should be excited for Plant to come to Tucson.
Just by looking at his film, he plays aggressively. He’s a physically imposing end, and does a great job getting to the football. He will need to get acclimated to the college game and speed, but he should be a nice addition.
