Chance Comanche enjoying his time in the NBA G-League
Where in the world is Chance Comanche? Playing his heart out in the NBA G-League with the Memphis Hustle (Memphis Grizzlies Affiliate).
Bill Walton couldn’t get enough of Chance Comanche when he played with the Arizona Basketball team, “Throw it down Big Man!” Walton took time out before games to have a chat with The Chief. He saw a lot of potential in Chance. Wildcats fans enjoyed his huge dunks and put packs, and he is missed by many who wanted him to stay in school one more year so the could cheer for him. Well, you can tune in to the NBA G-League on Facebook and cheer for him as he plays for the Memphis Hustle.
The 6-foot-11 power forward is enjoying life these days. He is joyous. If you follow him on social media, you know he has been working out very hard to increase his strength and endurance. His longtime trainer Dash Harris Sr. worked Chance out on the sand dunes in Manhattan Beach with mom Melissa in tow.

After the 2017 NBA Draft, Comanche had choices. He had offers from a few G-League teams, so it was up to him where he wanted to launch his professional career. Comanche chose the Memphis Hustle.
Comanche signed with the Hustle after playing for the Clozers in the Drew League in Compton along with Ethan Thompson and Ira Lee. Chance got significant minutes in the Drew League, and he rose to the occasion as the go-to big man. A couple of notables on his team are former Cal Bear Ivan Rabb and former Wildcat Kobi Simmons.
The Chief doubled his average minutes between November and December from 7.1 to 14.3. He had his best game so far against the Santa Cruz Warriors where he scored 15 points on seven of ten shots and grabbed eight rebounds. So close to a double-double.
I caught up with the Chief after the South Bay Lakers beat the Hustle in front of Lakers Head Coach Luke Walton who showed up with his family to catch the game.
