Reason No. 1 – Entertainment factor

The last reason why there should be a challenge system in college basketball is because of the entertainment factor. If you look at other sports that now use this system, it’s obvious how much fans love it! Whether it’s the football coach on the sideline pulling out that red flag, or a baseball manager challenging a close call at the plate or even a tennis player challenging a 100 mph serve, it adds that element of excitement to the game! And everyone feels better about the fairness of the game.

Here is a perfect example of how fans enjoyed the challenge system in Tennis during a US Open Tennis match between Andy Murray vs. Novak Djokovic (just wait for it):

Entertainment and earning a win fairly equal ratings. In a world in which there is much competition between networks and a need to increase viewership, having a challenge system in college basketball would be beneficial for everyone. The game of basketball is exciting, especially on the college level. Don’t let bad calls by the referees ruin the experience for fans and players.
