No. 2 Eric Musselman (Nevada)

The No. 2 on my list was also a star of this past March. Eric Musselman’s energy was contagious to viewers who saw him so hyped up after Nevada’s first-round win that Turner Sports’ cameras and mics picked up him screaming expletives, or when after beating Cincinnati he took off his shirt and celebrated with his team.

Musselman’s energy seems to be what his teams thrive off of because they never give up and are always trying to get out and run and speed up the tempo of the game. After two unsuccessful attempts in the NBA, with the Kings and the Warriors, Musselman has resurrected his career at Nevada.

Having earned two straight NCAA tournament appearances in the last two years, Musselman has made a name for himself in the Mountain West Conference and the nation overall. The one question mark is he has had some off-the-court issues, like, getting a DUI while being the coach of the Kings.

With a wife and a daughter (who almost stole March, if it weren’t for Sister Jean), we can probably be assured those days are over, but you never know. Musselman’s energy and ability to just let his guys play, but also being able to adjust, is why he needs to get a serious look for the Arizona job if it comes open.
