NBA Execs: Do Not Sleep On Allonzo Trier
The NBA draft is right around the corner. NBA owners and their GMs are trying to maximize the talent they are getting with their draft picks. While it might seem like a lottery pick is the only way to get a transcendent player. There are players who are sitting there and could be the diamond in the rough for an NBA organization.
Don’t look past Arizona Wildcat’s Allonzo Trier and what he could bring to an NBA team here in the near future. His ability to create his own shot and take over a game is something that cannot be taught.

His college career was not a walk in the park. There are many times Trier’s love for basketball was tested. One example of this would be the multiple suspensions he served for a positive test of PEDs, minuscule traces seemed like overkill by the NCAA who sidelined him for a few games. After an injury in his freshman season, he came back to Arizona ready to show the world what he was made of. Zo has endured adversity each season but it did not deter him from working on his craft and supporting his teammates.
During his time at the University of Arizona, Allonzo averaged 16 points a game with a field goal percentage of 48% Not to mention shooting 56.5% from inside the three points arc and 38% from beyond the three-point arc.
These stats are the main reason why so many PAC-12 schools rejoiced when he announced that he is going to put his name into the NBA draft. While Arizona fans cling to the memories that he brought to the Arizona Basketball Program. The late-season Wooden Award finalist improved each season in every category, he finished his college career making 86.5% of his free throws which was good for No. 2 in the Pac-12 behind Utah’s Justin Bibbins.

Allonzo Trier has a game similar to Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers. There is a lot of teams that could use a Damian Lillard type of player on their roster right now due to the way he can affect the game. With that being said, NBA owners should take a good long hard look at Allonzo Trier before passing on him. Any teams sleeping on Allonzo Trier will soon be awake as soon as he gets his chance in the NBA.
