Just when you thought relationships couldn’t get any worse between ASU and Arizona Athletics, you find out that it can.

Heard about the extremely salty Arizona State Sun Devil fans and alumni? It started during the basketball season. The College Bar & Grill, located on 502 S. College Avenue in Tempe, decided that during pre-gaming and the game, only ASU fans would be allowed to enter their establishment wearing ASU gear, no Arizona Athletics gear was allowed in!

That seemed odd to us. I mean, who wouldn’t want more business? Even in the offseason? Suffice to it to say, Arizona fans should ever go to College Bar & Grill, even if their reason for banning WIlcats gear was for safety reasons.

More from Arizona Wildcats

This time around, the ASU fans and alumn chimed in and got their way.

Arizona Football head coach Kevin Sumlin, Dave Rubio, and Arizona AD Dave Heeke are going on their Arizona Athletics Road Tour across the state. The road tour had a key stop on their trip, Tempe. The event was planned for Monday, May 21at Pedal Haus Brewery, on Mill Ave. in Tempe. The Brewery is a mile from the ASU campus.

The owner of Pedal Haus Brewery, Julian Wright, told ABC15 that he didn’t know it was an Arizona Athletics event. What? Come on, now!  Wright told ABC15, “Our commitment is to ASU. Always has been and always will be. We’re big fans and big supporters of the university and the sports program.” Okay, but you now have pissed off a whole population of people living in your area who will probably boycott his establishment.

Angering a whole fan base, a risk Wright is willing to take. Wright’s General Manager Dan Regan said that the event was only in the preliminary stages. Hilarious, how did it get out and how did the event get canceled if it was preliminary? Regan publically apologized to fans and said that since Padal Haus is “First and foremost an avid advocate of Arizona State University Athletics, Education and Alumni.”

The hatred is real folks.

Arizona Athletics was able to find a new venue. The venue is the Social Tap at 4312 N Brown Ave. in Scottsdale. The festivities will start at 5:30 p.m on May 21st. Scottsdale is a step up from Tempe anyway, right?

Maybe it was those billboards Arizona Athletics posted all over Phoenix and close to the ASU campus. This was the first time the “road tour” was planned so close to ASU. It didn’t go so well, but it did turn out to be a better location.

We take you back to 2013, here is a taste of the Arizona Athletics Road Trip including Arizona Basketball coach Sean Miller:

From now on, Arizona Wildcats fans need to show their love to the Social Tap at 4312 N Brown Ave. in Scottsdale. They are apparently not ASU grads, because they are smart enough to make money regardless of who they are serving.
