Now tied 6-6 in the series, the Wildcats took to the sand and won both match-ups against the Devils, in Tucson and Tempe.  In the first meeting, the Wildcats crushed their opponent with a 4-1 win in the Wildcat Spring Challenge and securing 1/2 point in the series.

The second meeting took place in Tempe, where it was a much closer battle, but the outcome was the same as the Wildcats won 3-2, securing another 1/2 point, and extending the lead to 7-6. The match came down to the final match, where Kacey Nady and Olivia Hallaran won in three sets.

April 21 & 22, 2018 – Wildcat Softball

Picking up where the beach volleyball team left off, the Wildcat’s softball team won two out of three games in Tempe to add another point in the territorial series. Game one the Wildcats lost in a close, low scoring battle by a 2-1 final. Both pitchers for each team were hitting their spots, but the Wildcats couldn’t find a way to manufacture any more runs.

Game two was a much different story, as the Wildcats seemed to have found their bats in this on, going on to win by a 4-1 final. Alyssa Denham was solid on the mound, allowing just one run on two hits.

Game three would take extra innings, before sophomore sensation Jessie Harper hit a single in the top of eight to give her team a two run lead and the 4-2 victory. Taylor McQuillin pitched brilliantly, allowing only 2 runs on 6 hits.
