Former Arizona Basketball star Deandre Ayton Does Not Shy Away From attention when the Bright Lights And Cameras come on!
Fame can change a person for better or worse, from the media attention, to the growth of fan bases, to getting the coveted blue check mark on their social media accounts, and perhaps most money, can all go to peoples’ heads. Since being drafted and becoming a more polarizing player, former Arizona Basketball star Deandre Ayton seems unfazed by it all.
Instead, Ayton is using the attention of getting drafted number one by the Suns as a way to express himself and his outgoing and lovable personality. As Wildcat fans, we know what Ayton is made of as he had his fair share of ups and down during his time in Tucson.
Through it all though, one thing was for sure Deandre always had “Ay-Ton” of smiles to share with the Wildcat faithful.

In his latest interview with ESPN, Ayton got another chance to show off that huge personality as he answered some questions from the class of 2018 to LeBron James’ move to the Lakers.
The first question he was asked was, “What went through your mind when LeBron Signed with the Lakers?” Ayton was the first to admit that he called it, saying that LeBron is a smart man who wants a team that is going to listen and be eager to get better.
He also mentioned that LeBron also knows LA is great place to chill after his career is over. Just like LeBron, Ayton’s bank account looks a lot different than when they were both entering the league.
So with that being said, the next questions was about the biggest purchase he has made from his rookie contract. While most might think it would be a new whip to drive around town, or even some new bling to sport as they strut into the arena, Ayton had something else in mind.
The NBA rookie used some of his contract to buy a new house for his mom. Ayton had said that there was no way repay his mom for all that she has done for him.
With the new house though, Ayton knows she can now live comfortably as she now resides in the same neighborhood as Suns owner Robert Sarver, and teammate Devin Booker.
Now with his first purchase out of the way and the season right around the corner. Its only right to ask about the best advice that Ayton has received early on in his pro career. Ayton was quick to mention that he has not gotten any advice yet, as all the veterans on his team are enjoying their vacations currently. One thing Ayton is sure of though, is that they will be full of advice upon their return, and he is ready for it.
While Ayton was preparing for the rookie photo shoot, he was able to give NBA fans a preview of what he’ll be bringing beyond his incredible basketball talent.
From some amazing singing, he also took the time to show off his dance moves alongside Mo Bamba. Yes, you saw that correctly it said DANCE moves, not post moves or that sweet stroke from beyond the arc. Again just sharing his BIG personality we grew accustomed to in Tucson.

The Suns not only got their center of the future, but they also got themselves a glue guy in the locker room. Ayton likes to work hard and play hard and has a unique ability to make light of stressful situations.
If the Suns are looking to turn the corner and take the next step as a franchise, Deandre Ayton is right piece to do just that. Just take a look at some of his highlights in Summer League!
At Zona Zealots, we’re excited to see the continued growth or Ayton and can’t wait to see how he perform this season! Bear Down, Arizona!
